Even though chef Shawn McClain at Sage is technically based out of Chicago, Las Vegas still considers him one of its own. On Sunday, he kicked some a** on Iron Chef America, beating Iron Chef Marc Forgione.
Ironically, Forgione cooked in McClain’s kitchen during his season of Next Iron Chef, and he's also the brother of Bryan Forgione at Society Cafe at Encore Las Vegas.
Just to make this a bit more complicated, part of McClain’s challenge was to incorporate a cocktail with each dish — and he was paired with another adopted son, Tony Abou-Gamin, as luck would have it.
Now through Saturday, McClain is offering his Iron Chef America menu at the restaurant, complete with the cocktail pairings. McClain will be in his restaurant at Aria on Tuesday and Wednesday nights as well.
Nab the six-course menu for $95 and pair it with Abou-Ganim cocktails for an additional $45.
