Take an 11-time World Pizza Champion, a bold design dream and a massive overhaul of an area once neglected and you have the wildly anticipated debut of Tony Gemignani's Pizza Rock.
Set to debut with a "Grand Opening" event at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19, in similar style to their original Sacramento location they'll be hosting a DJ, Chris the Rebel, plus demonstrating the lesser know art of "pizza acrobatics."

Located across the street from the soon to open Downtown Grand resort and next door to the soon to expand Triple George Grill, Pizza Rock's long footprint stretches nearly a half a block.
A behind the scenes, unfinished draft of their forthcoming website, once again confirms Gemignani's infamous Margherita pizza will be on the menu. Limited to only 73 pies per day, the winner of the 2007 World Pizza Cup features the evocative line-up of "dough hand mixed using San Felice flour, proofed in Neapolitan wood boxes, San Marzano Tomatoes, Mozzarella Fior di Latte, basil, EVOO and sea salt."
Gemignani has also crafted a wide gamut of pizza styles including Neapolitan, classic Italian, classic American, Sicilian, Roman and gluten free. They have built four different ovens to further specialize the process.
Adding to a full menu that includes antipasti, pasta dishes, burgers and sandwiches, will be a Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. accompanied by acoustic music. They'll be serving breakfast pizzas and their twist on traditional favorites, like meatball hash and eggs, eggs Benedict with pancetta and French toast made with focaccia bread.
Pizza Rock will be open from 11 a.m. until midnight on Sunday to Thursday and as late as 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
