Missing their anticipated opening day by 24 hours, KJ Dim Sum and Seafood is now serving at the Rio just in time for the Chinese New Year. The restaurant, an offshoot of KJ Kitchen in Chinatown, is headed up by Loy Lee, who led the culinary team at KJ Kitchen for more than five years and learned his craft in Hong Kong. Chef Pui Wong, who worked in China and Hong Kong, also helms the kitchen.
Look for tableside carts of dim sum roaming the restaurant and dishes such as XO salt and pepper crab and stir-fry Mongolian beef from the faves at KJ Kitchen, as well as new menu items exclusive to the Rio.
The restaurant takes over the space of Lucky Strike, the former bowling alley there, near the poker room and Carnival World Buffet. Seating 350, the restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
