Chimichangas are coming. Cantina Laredo is finally, almost ready to charge you extra for guacamole.
First announced as a Tivoli Village tenant back in spring 2010, the "Modern Mexican" restaurant is pushing to open in time for the holidays, tentatively in mid-November. While currently hiring as many as 140 employees, inside the space still has some work to be done.
This 7,401-square-foot restaurant is part of a nationwide chain proudly repeating, "Cantina Laredo is to Mexican what P.F. Chang's is to Chinese." The upscale Mexican menu will be available for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. An outside patio featuring fire pits, faces their neighbor, Greek restaurant Petra.
Tivoli Village visitors are also gearing up for the opening of View Wine Bar & Kitchen and Taste within The Market LV and further announcements of progress on Echo & Rig, a steakhouse and butcher shop from Los Angeles chef Sam Marvin.
Cantina Laredo was one of the first restaurants promised for Tivoli Village, touted alongside German eatery Ratskeller, and actor Joe Pesci's pizzeria Pesci's. Two years later, neither of those concepts have yet to materialize.
