Citizens Teases Some of Its Coming Menu Items

Just a few updates on Citizens, the restaurant taking over the Red, White and Blue space at Mandalay Bay.

Now comes word that the official name will be Citizens Kitchen & Bar, opening in January 2013. The 6,787-square-foot space with room inside for 175, including 12 at the bar, will feature chef Brian Massie's American comfort food. Look for breakfast, lunch and dinner items on the menu such as Maryland Blue crab cakes, Southern fried chicken and bacon-wrapped meatloaf. A loaded beer menu will also be featured behind the bar.

Munge Leung, the design firm behind 1 OAK at the Mirage, will create the look once Red, White and Blue closes Nov. 18. The Light Group is taking over the lease there, as well as at Red Square and China Grill, which will become a new restaurant headed by Akira Back of Yellowtail at the Bellagio.
