Sorry times for Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel. On Oct. 24, the restaurant came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District.
Inspectors gave Nobu 39 demerits after a routine inspection on Oct. 24. Violations included spoiled food, commercially manufactured food from unapproved sources and potentially hazardous food held at improper temperatures during storage.
Previous inspections at the restaurant dating back to March 2000 show A grades, with the exception of an April 2007 inspection that netted 23 demerits and a C grade and a May 2001 inspection with a B grade.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a reinspection before its next scheduled inspection.
