Rockhouse Bar & Grill is closer to mixing some dirt with the swanky, and their resort musical chairs will soon end at the Venetian. An 8,818-square-foot overhaul, the faux dive bar's website boasts their new location will feature 80 HDTVs tuned to a "complete sports package," pool tables and the return of beer pong to the north end of Strip. Also expect the relaunch of their popular daiquiri bar.
Rockhouse was known for staff dancing on elevated platforms in view of Strip pedestrians and their unmistakable 88-ounce novelty booze cup in the shape of a guitar.
The former Imperial Palace institution, which liked to call itself the "Best Place to Party," was pushed out in May to make way for The Linq project construction. Two months later, with a temporary rename, Rock Bar squeezed itself into a space at fellow Fine Entertainment property PBR Rock Bar & Grill at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort.
Rockhouse's new construction plywood claims it will be "opening soon" at the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, directly across the hallway from First Food & Bar and down the corridor from luxury department store Barneys New York.
No opening date has been announced when air guitarists will be able to jam away at the Shoppes, or whether the unveil will provide rumored outdoor seating facing the Strip.
