Hard Rock Still Says FU but No Longer to Noodles

What's in a name? All we know is FU.

The Hard Rock Hotel's summer of renovation rush opened Culinary Dropout, sports bar The Ainsworth and live entertainment venue Vinyl in quick fashion, but has slowed in offering a replacement for the shuttered Johnny Smalls.

Staff members had been told the name was FU Noodles or FU Noodle. They knew for sure to say, "FU."

Now construction documents reveal the name to be Fu Asian, a change confirmed by October press releases from Hard Rock touting a fall opening.

Currently the space is wrapped in plywood advertising the November residency at The Joint by rockers Guns N' Roses.

The 2,756-square-foot restaurant was created to help increase the 10 percent of the resort's clientele they identify as Asian into a 30 percent share. A high-limit area featuring Baccarat, EZ Baccarat and Pai Gow is in the cards and the High-Limit Lounge opposite Fu has recently received new signage calling it the Dragon Salon. Executives had promised that a perk of the new gaming area was table-side ordering from the forthcoming restaurant. Whatever its name.
