Las Vegas will have to wait more than a year for its first Sprinkles Cupcakes, but in the meantime the inventor of the haute cupcake trend dropped some additional details on its first flagship store outside of Beverly Hills. Come December 2013, Sprinkles plans to feature the Sprinkles Cupcakes, Sprinkles Ice Cream and a Cupcake ATM at The Linq, the $550 million entertainment complex taking over mid-Strip.
"I am very excited about opening in Las Vegas — its characteristic warm, sunny days will go hand in hand with a sweet scoop of ice cream," said Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes and a judge on Food Network's Cupcake Wars. "The city's round-the-clock nature means a Cupcake ATM is a must. And cupcake enthusiasts can even gamble at the machine since it is common practice for us to load it with Golden Tickets valid for free cupcakes."
More than 50 flavors of cupcakes will be available, including banana, chai latte, dark chocolate, strawberry and the classic favorite, red velvet. High rollers can customize their cupcakes with sugar decorations such as a shimmery gold dollar sign and a suit of cards.
In the meantime, Sprinkles plans to taunt Las Vegas with the Sprinklesmobile, which will hand out free cupcakes at various locations along the Strip. Giveaway locations will be announced at www.facebook.com/sprinklesvegas.
