Petra Shuts the Front Door to Make Way for Asian Fare from a Top Chef

Another one bites the dust at Tivoli Village. Now comes word that Petra Greek Taverna shuttered as of Wednesday.

In its place, chef Angelo Sosa plans to open Poppy Den, a "neighborhood Asian gastropub," in time for New Year's Eve.

Sosa, a contestant on Season 7 of Top Chef, has Social Eatz and Añejo Tequileria y Restaurante in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City.

Bill Feather, the former head honcho at Planet Hollywood Resort who now has View Wine Bar & Kitchen in Market LV at Tivoli, is behind the concept that promises "healthful, vibrant Asian flavors in a casual setting that evokes the euphoric beauty of the poppy flower itself," according to a press release.

The interior will feature an abundance of natural light in a rustic country setting. Outside, Sosa plans to plant a poppy garden.
