Located in the space of former tapas restaurant Johnny Smalls, the Chinese restaurant Fu quietly opened over the weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel after a period of test days for friends and family.

The Pan-Asian restaurant, offers a Chinese menu from executive chef Ming Woo with Korean, Vietnamese and Thai inspiration and dishes. Signature Items include Hong Kong-style roast duck noodle soup, cold Vietnamese soft shell crisp spring roll and spicy Thai basil minced chicken lettuce wraps.

The decor features a mix of treated wood accents and diverse lighting including carnival lights, chandeliers and colored lanterns. A welcoming, wooden archway leads guests into the space. In addition to the main dining area, an open patio sits right on the casino floor.

After a number of variants on the name, they have finally settled on Fu, with the "u" in lowercase, translated as luck in English. The 2,756-square-foot restaurant marks the continuation of the Hard Rock Hotel's stated push to increase the balance of their Asian clientele from 10 to 30 percent.

Fu will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and closes at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
