The Back of the House Brawl brings together a former winner and a newcomer when it kicks up again this Saturday night with a battle between the chefs at Tommy Rocker's. And that's not all. The Cock Fight returns while a chili cook off creates a whole new realm of competition.
First up, the BOH Brawl, where Sean Griffin of Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio returns to defend his title, this time against Nicole Brisson of Carnevino at the Palazzo.
Basically, the two chefs will start off the night by creating $6 dishes to the theme Hot Stock, a soup each will sell from the food trucks participating in the Saturday Night Truck Stop with proceeds going to the Kassidy's Army.
Then the duo will compete with a mystery basket in an Iron Chef-style brawl on the food trucks. Whole Foods donates the five ingredients featured for the evening. Chef Mike Minor of Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, a former BOH Brawl winner, will be one of the judges.
The Saturday Night Truck Stop, where the food trucks serve up their fares, starts at 10 p.m. Food trucks Lola D's Kitchen, Redneck Kitchen, Quality Food Service, Roamin' Dough, Just Rollin', Engine 1 Pizza and Bake My Day will dish out street food at the event.
A new event, a chili cook off, also kicks off at the event between Lola D's Kitchen and Insert Coin(s). Quality Food Service, Roamin' Dough and Lola D's Kitchen will sell the chile and guests can vote on their fave.
Also returning, the Cock Fight, a battle between two bartenders who also have a secret basket of ingredients. J.R. Starkus at RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay returns to defend his title against Kevin Gorham at the Downtown Cocktail Room.
Both the Cock Fight and BOH Brawl start at 1:30 a.m., technically Sunday morning.
