Those plans to open 300 locations of Catfish Alley nationwide may have been stifled after the Southern Nevada Health District shut down the second location on the Strip last month.

A sign on the front window of the restaurant inside the Hawaiian Marketplace says the place was shut down Oct. 5 for operating without a valid health permit. A conflicting sign says the restaurant, called Celebrity Catfish here, is closed for remodeling.

When the second location opened eight months ago, the owners said they planned to stampede across America, bringing 300 locations in its wake in the next five years.
