Two restaurants felt the wrath of the Southern Nevada Health District on Nov. 16 following routine inspections.
First up, La Cabana Mexican Restaurant at 526 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., which racked up 53 demerits. SNHD inspectors found no hot and cold running water, a dangerous cross contamination of waste water and sewage into the public sewer and spoiled food among the violations.
Next, Best Billiards Restaurant at 3740 E. Flamingo Road was shuttered with 49 demerits. SNHD inspectors found spoiled food, a dangerous cross contamination of waste water and sewage into the public sewer and the restaurant operating outside the parameters of its health permit among the violations.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
