Could Society Cafe be getting more Italian?
Now comes word that Bryan Forgione is taking over the chef's knives at the Encore Las Vegas restaurant. Earlier this month, Kim Canteenwalla, who opened the restaurant, announced he was leaving to pursue his new Honey Salt full time.
As the new executive chef at Society Cafe, Forgione says he plans to put some of his own signature touches on the menu with touches of his family's influence. See, Forgione is the son of restauranteur Larry Forgione and brother to Iron Chef icon Marc Forgione. He landed in Vegas in 2008, first working as sous chef of Tableau, a restaurant his father helped to conceptualize and open in 2005, and then moving over to be the chef de cuisine at Society.
