Now a competition begins between chefs at the Venetian and the Palazzo during the Culinary Clash, a four-week fight with the winner landing the coveted title of master chef.
Not only are chefs from SushiSamba, Table 10, First Food & Bar, Tao Asian Bistro, Aquaknox, Zine, Lagasse Stadium, Carnevino, Valentino, Delmonico, B&B, Rattlecan, Lavo and Otto Enoteca squaring off, creating dishes from ingredients in a mystery basket, but the chefs will work on mobile food truck kitchens on the Doge Palace Plaza. Guests can even purchase the dishes as their created.
The competitions kick off Nov. 29 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with celebrity chefs joining the judging panel. Look for Emeril Lagasse week one, with Mario Batali judging Dec. 7, Sammy DeMarco Dec. 14 and a surprise chef Dec 21 for the finals.
Each cooking battle will be highlighted with street entertainment, DJ music and an after-party provided by Tao.
The stakes? The winner receives a trip to Italy with a guest.
The festivities are all part of the Winter in Venice, a celebration of the winter holiday that runs through Jan. 6, 2013, at the Venetian and Palazzo.
