VENETIAN — Tao Cares, the charitable arm of Tao Group, is holding a fundraising effort for victims of Hurricane Sandy through today. Tao Asian Bistro & Nightclub, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Nightclub at the Palazzo and Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will donate a portion of restaurant and nightclub sales to the American Red Cross. Tao Asian Bistro and Lavo Italian Restaurant both have special menus where a portion of proceeds go to to recovery and relief efforts. Special menu items at Tao include red curry chicken ($30) with snow peas, eggplant and jasmine rice and the Kobe beef spring roll ($15) with spicy peanut chili sauce. Lavo's menu features porcini mushroom risotto with parmesan frico ($28) and fresh burrata over an arugula salad ($18) with a lemon vinaigrette and pancetta crisp. [EaterWire]
