Looks like B.B. King's Blues Restaurant & Club at the Mirage plans to close on Nov. 18.
The restaurant and club already filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year. Papers filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court say the Mirage was "allowed to keep the charges that patrons put on their room tabs, called recoupment, to pay down unpaid bills that predate the bankruptcy," according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
S. Tommy Peters, the manager of club owner Beale Street Blues Co. Las Vegas LLC, says the move severely cramped the club's cash flow. Mirage attorneys fired back, saying the club ran up bills including $114,000 in unpaid union obligations and $223,000 in sales and taxes over the summer.
Now the Memphis-based parent company is unwilling to put money into the local club.
