End of the World Dinner; Bordeaux Celebration

MANDALAY PLACERí Rá celebrates the End of the World on Dec. 21 with drink specials, a Last Meal dinner menu and two toasts — one to celebrate Ireland's survival at 4:01 p.m. PST and a traditional midnight toast when Las Vegas survives at 12:01 a.m. PST on Saturday, Dec. 22. The dinner menu includes beer-battered zucchini, beef Wellington, rack of lamb, PBJ and milk and chocolate mousse for dessert. Hot Cockalorum, featuring New York musicians David Barclow and Isaac Alderson, will keep the party going from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. by blending ancient Irish dance music with classic rock and pop songs. Guests can order $2 pints of Shock Top's End of the World Midnight Wheat during the party. Rí Rá's End of the World party is free and open to the public. [EaterWire]
