Surprise! Slice's Miki Agarwa Is Ukulele Playing Resident

Pause for thought updates from Downtown's Ogden building confirm progress on New Yorker Miki Agarwal's organic friendly pizza joint, Slice, and on the lecture bar coming to the corner.

Representative Todd Kessler speaking before the Las Vegas City Council Planning Commission confirmed an earlier report of acoustic music providing the ambient backdrop to vegan pizza dining. He upped the ante by telling the commission that Miki Agarwal herself would be providing ukulele accompaniment as many as two nights a week. Slice plans to offer live music Wednesday through Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.

And located next door, a proposed combination lecture space and bar also sailed through the building approval process. A smaller sequel to Tony Hsieh's under construction Inspire Theater at 501 Fremont St., the bar and lecture lounge will be able to squeeze in 70 to 80 people to hear visiting and local lecturers.

Events for the most part will be free. Kessler implied to the commission that speakers from TED, the technology, entertainment, design conferences, would ultimately become part of the mix.

Hsieh's Downtown Project currently hosts a weekly speaker series. His much larger auditorium project being built in a former 7-Eleven will seat 142 inspiration seekers.
