You Can Do The Strand, Again, at Tivoli Village

The Strand, the on-again, off-again Tivoli Village cocktail lounge and restaurant, is back on again. Originally hyped to open back in May, the venture is under new ownership, who have a partially finished venture they want to whip back into shape.

The original supper club concept was touted as "Couture Cocktails — Gastro Tourism — Real Entertainment." Strand mark II will be steps away from the forthcoming Asian gastropub Poppy Den and adjacent to the newly opened Cantina Laredo.

With 10,442 square feet filling two floors, a draw for the site includes outside seating and an upper floor terrace with an interior space broken up into a multitude of lounges and bar options. Construction had been in full swing before the plug was pulled. With a proposed closing time of 2 a.m. weeknights and 4 a.m. on the weekend, The Strand would have been Tivoli Village's sole late-night haunt.
