Kabuki Offers Sushi Classes; Raku Has Osechi Boxes

TIVOLI VILLAGE — Kabuki Japanese Restaurant plans to debut Kabuki Sushi 101 starting Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Yuji Matsumoto, California Sushi Academy founder and Kabuki's master sake sommelier, will lead the class that gives students a shot at making four of Kabuki's most popular sushi rolls. Those enrolled in the class will receive a hands-on tutorial from Matsumoto, sake pairing and a swag bag full of items needed to make sushi at home. CHINATOWN — Raku has a special Osechi box for the holidays. The box contains marinated and cooked foods so hostesses can just pull the box out of the refrigerator when guests get hungry. Guests can order the box through today for $320 with the box and $300 if they bring their own. [EaterWire]
