Won't be much longer to discover what exactly comprises "Hip Asian Dining." Or what will be on the "vibe" menu of a "Musical Chef." The finishing touches on Encore's switch from Switch to Andrea's is well underway and the prettiest plywood in Las Vegas has been pulled down to reveal the remodel, scheduled to premiere on Dec. 28.
Eater Vegas first revealed the concept and design back in October and many elements have made the final cut, including the wall of private booths with "shimmer screen" doors and hanging abstract floral pendant. And the oversized "eyes" artwork has been revealed to be the eyes of owner Steve Wyn's wife, and inspiration for the restaurant, Andrea Hissom.
From the casino floor, visitors' gazes are drawn to a long bar and arresting glass ceiling lighting fixture. The red color scheme makes Andrea's a design sister to Wazuzu, Encore's other Asian restaurant just steps away. This venture, with a music soundtrack whipped up by "Musical Chef" DJ Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia will be conceptually aligned to next door's Surrender Nightclub. Dining guests who have a table reservation at the club can be escorted from Andrea's directly into Surrender, line-jumping the hoi polloi at the regular front entrance.
Directly outside Andrea's, the former open plan casino floor Switch Bar has been re-vamped into VDKA. With less than 20 seats for guests, they nevertheless tout more than 150 flavored vodkas behind the bar plus the bonus gimmick of the "Shock-A-Vodka" draft delivery system that assures the vodka is no warmer than 5 degrees in temperature.
