An imminent health hazard called for the immediate closing of Lemongrass Cafe after a routine inspection by the Southern Nevada Health District on Dec. 3. Inspectors found what they call "gross unsanitary conditions," otherwise known as a pest infestation.
While the discovery led to an immediate closure, the Vietnamese restaurant also landed 38 demerits, including food unprotected from contamination during storage and by the staff and guests, improperly cooled potentially hazardous foods and more.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
