With Los Angeles being our closest gastronomic city, we offer up a weekly recap of all that’s hot over in La-La Land via Eater LA. Here’s the skinny.
PALM SPRINGS — Philly-based chef Jose Garces, operator of Garces Restaurant Group — a collection of eateries mostly focused on Spanish/Latin American cuisine — is skirting Vegas to instead open two restaurants in Palm Springs. Both Tinto and El Jefe make their debut in the swanky new Saguaro Hotel on Feb. 17.
MID-CITY — Brett Cranston and Beau Laughlin offer up tips on how to land a table at the trendy The Churchill.
DOWNTOWN — Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen's re-imagined, glorified farmhouse with vintage whisk lighting fixtures opened on Thursday. The Blue Cow Kitchen & Bar features farm-to-table sandwiches and more arranged by ex-Church & State chef Josh Smith, though a rotating roster of guest chefs will pass through the restaurant to contribute ideas and successful sandwiches will hit Mendo menus.
