The battle between Wynn Resorts Ltd. CEO Steve Wynn and his former business partner and ex-company vice-chairman Kazuo Okada heated up over the weekend when Wynn Resorts, ”bought out Okada's stake after determining the Hong Kong-based casino tycoon and his associates made improper payments to overseas gaming regulators.”
What that means for the restaurant world is that Okada, the Japanese restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas that closed Feb. 6 for renovations, removed all traces of the Okada name. The new name? We’ll have to wait for that.
Earlier this month, Wynn Las Vegas moved chef Devin Hashimoto over to Wazuzu at Encore Las Vegas to dish during the renovations.
