First it seemed like every new restaurant in Vegas was a burger joint or a steakhouse. Now we move into a similar familiar territory with a new pizza shop, this one opening at Mandalay Place next to Mandalay Bay.
Slice of Vegas is the latest venture from the team behind Hussong’s Cantina and just a few doors down from the Baja California joint. The casual cool spot will serve New York-style pizza with a thin, chewy crust, along with calzones, pastas and salads. Gluten-free dough will be available, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
The place will be grab and go for shoppers who want a slice but will offer booths and a bar area for guests who want to watch the game on one of 16 TVs or play tunes on the jukebox. One cool feature — guests can use their iPhones to pick out the music played there.
The restaurant is slated to open in April.
