Sizzle, sizzle. The Fourth Annual Eater Hot Chefs Competition heated up yesterday with Matthew Piekarski from First Food and Bar at the Palazzo and Rick Moonen from RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay vaulting back and forth for the lead. Moonen squeaked through to win the round, joining Olivier Dubreuil, Venetian and Palazzo property executive chef, Steve Benjamin of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand, Joseph Leibowitz of Tower Suite Café at Wynn Las Vegas, Anthony Meidenbauer, executive chef for Block 16 Hospitality, and Shawn McClain of Sage at Aria in the semifinals.
That leads us to round 7 of the voting today. Nicole Grimes of Rao’s at Caesars Palace, Kerry Simon of KGB: Kerry's Gourmet Burgers at Harrah's Las Vegas and Simon at Palms Place, Kim Canteenwalla of Society Cafe at Encore Las Vegas, Akira Back of Yellowtail at Bellagio and Donavon Campbell, executive chef at Culinary Arts Catering at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, face off today.
Be sure to tweet your vote to show off which chef you think is hottest. Let the voting begin.
