Slice of Vegas just announced its new chef. The pizza joint set to open in April brought on Devin Murchin to handle the culinary side of the Mandalay Place restaurant.
The Baltimore native started off his restaurant career as a dishwasher when his family moved to southern Indiana when he was 14. By the age of 17, he balanced school and his passion for cooking as the lead cook of a small Italian American café. The experience sealed his decision to pursue a career as a chef.
That led Murchin to Johnson & Wales University. Then he moved on to Vegas as the sous chef at China Grill at Mandalay Bay. He went on to work at Carnevino from Mario Batali at the Palazzo and then as the head chef of Viaggio Italian Cuisine in Henderson.
Slice of Vegas plans to serve casual Italian American.
