A Cooking Fiesta at El Segundo Sol; Wine Walk

FASHION SHOW — El Segundo Sol is holding a cooking fiesta from 10 a.m. to noon on March 31 with executive chef Terry Lynch. He plans to demonstrate dishes such as chips and roasted tomato-serrano salsa, Oaxacan chicken in mole negro and quesadilla with mushroom, sweet corn and hiutlacoche. LAKE LAS VEGAS — The Village Lake Las Vegas is holding its Toast to the Town wine walk at 7 p.m. on March 31 to benefit nonprofit group New Vista Community. Southern Wine & Spirits and Lee's Discount Liquor plan to present a special evening of wines, cocktails, beers and cuisine sampling by restaurant partners. Live music and a silent auction also are planned. A VIP Mingle with the Chefs is set to begin at 6 p.m., and tickets are $75 in advance only. LUXOR — Tender Steak & Seafood added some new items to its spring menu. Executive chef K.C. Fazel is featuring Hawaiian blue prawns in a garden vegetable minestrone on black forbidden rice and Canadian Skuna Bay salmon, pan-roasted and served on organic farro pilaf and Mediterranean succotash in the spring and summer. New seasonal side dishes include braised brussel sprouts stewed in an onion and garlic chicken broth and sautéed broccolini tossed in sweet chili sauce. [EaterWire]

TREASURE ISLANDPho has expanded its authentic Vietnamese menu to include Asian specialities daily from 5 p.m. to closing. Some of the new items include Singapore-style rice noodles, Mongolian beef, beef chow fun, crispy honey walnut shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken, Kung Pao chicken and vegetable fried rice.
