May is shaping up to be a banner month for Wolfgang Puck. The James Beard Foundation is honoring Puck with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and now the über-chef gets to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Spago at the Forum Shops at Caesars.

On May 10, Bon Appétit editor-in-chief Adam Rapoport and Puck plan to co-host a four-course, wine-pairing lunch to celebrate.

And really, Puck should be heralded in Vegas. After all, he ushered in an era of celebrity chefs in Vegas when he brought Spago. From that moment on, Vegas changed from a city known for buffets, 99-cent shrimp cocktails and cheap prime rib into a place for chefs to showcase their cooking prowess to the world.

The May 10 event kicks off Vegas Uncork’d. Spago’s first executive chef David Robins returns to cook alongside Spago’s current executive chef Eric Klein and Puck, who plans to share memories of the opening of the restaurant.

Tickets for the 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. brunch go for $150 and are available through vegasuncorked.com.

In other Wolfgang news, Las Vegas locals can nab priority reservations, preferred seating and a complimentary dessert when they flash their local ID at any of Puck’s six Strip restaurants.
