The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is changing over its former popup wedding space into a traditional sports bar with those video game producers EA Sports in a quick changeover expected to open March 31.
“It’s officially a popup space, so things will be coming and going to keep the environment fresh,” says a publicist on the project.
So just in time for the NCAA finals, EA Sports Bar opens with Sony PlayStation 3 game consoles, a passel of EA Sports games, high-definition televisions broadcasting the day’s sporting events and a lively bar set among nine living room-style vignettes decked out in Italian leather sofas and chairs.
Bored with the game? You can throw on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, Madden NFL 12 and FIFA 12, to name a few. The bar area will lend itself to sports-watching on one of the six wall-mounted 70-inch LED screens and an antique 1930s foosball table will add an old school charm to the space.
The 2,500-square-foot venue fits up to 125 guests and plans to be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
