Eater NY reports that Alex Stratta is out at Bigoli, the Italian restaurant he was consulting with in the Big Apple.
In February, Stratta told Eater Vegas, “The press got a hold of it so we had to make it more than it is. It’s doing well,” regarding the restaurant. Earlier this month, Eater NY put Bigoli on its Deathwatch list.
“It was amicable and I think it got blown out of proportion from the start,” Stratta told Eater Vegas about his departure. "They're really good people, but between the travel, my twins and other projects, it was just not right."
Stratta, who helmed Stratta and the now-defunct, Michelin-starred Alex at Wynn Las Vegas, still lives in Sin City and says he has considered opening a more casual restaurant here. In February he put together a pop-up dinner at Marché Bacchus French Bistro & Wine Shop, where he is a consultant.
