Joyful House, Wing Lei Named Top Chinese in the U.S.

Two of the 50 best Chinese restaurants in the country are based here in Vegas. At least according to the good folks over at CNN Go. They base their choices on interviews with chefs and Chinese restaurant associations, surveys of local food writers and polls and their own experience.

First up, Joyful House, which they say offers “no fusion or Americanized dishes at this Vegas favorite. Just consistent and authentic Cantonese selections from a Hong Kong-trained chef. The honey-walnut shrimp is a treat — not too heavy on the mayo glaze, good shrimp-to-walnut ratio and expertly cooked.”

The other? Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas. “The food is as classy as the atmosphere, with prices on most dishes starting at around $30. “Peking duck ($88) is the house specialty. It’s carved whole next to your table and served two ways, with steamed buns and hoisin sauce, and also diced in a lettuce cup.”
