Gordon Ramsay Steak is getting closer to completion. Just this week, the new towering sign that designates the Chunnel entrance from Paris Las Vegas into the very Brit GRS went up, anchored into the faux sky above the casino floor. Curtains and a wall still shroud the restaurant from view.
Inside, the light sculpture that hangs from the ceiling below the Union Jack is complete and already lit up. The red neon sculpture from Andrey Berezowsky of SWON Design was inspired from Gordon Ramsay’s hand gestures while he cooks. The piece takes up a massive 12-foot by 12-foot space, hanging down four feet below the Union Jack. If the tubes of neon were laid down from end to end, they would stretch more than 250 feet. The entire sculpture took a week to blow.
Caesars Entertainment still claims a mid-May opening, but Pulse of Vegas, an official blog for the company, says, “We’ve heard a couple of dates being floated for the opening of the restaurant, including May 1? Construction is expected to be completed April 23.”
