The Back of the House Brawl returns to Tommy Rocker’s this weekend with Border Grill executive chef Mike Minor at Mandalay Bay facing off with Sensi executive chef Roy Ellamar from the Bellagio in the event that resembles Iron Chef. The two chefs will be given eight ingredients and 30 minutes to cook up two dishes that use six of those on a food truck. The winner gets the PBR trophy.
While generally only the judges get to sample the dishes, the event is again helping raise money for kids in the culinary program at Silverado High School to take a trip to Baltimore to face off in a national competition. Two weeks ago, the event raised $2,500. Fifty percent of sales go toward the trip and guests who purchase food from the chefs get a vote as well.
