Come 2013, Vegas will be home to SkyVue, a 500-square-foot observation wheel that claims to be the largest in the Western Hemisphere.
This week, the wheel of fortune completed the first phase of construction to begin its ascension into the sky. On top of that, excavation started on its retail and dining areas. SkyVue’s two-story shopping and dining area will offer 140,000 square feet of retail space, a 21,000-square-foot convention facility and a food court.
SkyVue, located across from Mandalay Bay, plans to have views of the Strip along with a 50,000-square-foot LED screen, dubbed the largest in the world. Once open, the space plans to host concerts, sporting events, product launches and more. [EaterWire]
