Pools are being built, redecorating in order, cabanas rebuilt and stages being constructed over at the new Bagatelle Beach & Nightclub at the Tropicana Las Vegas. The entire east wing of the Trop is being relabeled with Bagatelle signage, giving guests an access to the restaurant and nightclub through an existing valet entrance and a separate private entrance to the east without ever stepping foot on the casino floor.
“We plan to take it to a whole new level,” says Jay Grisafi, director of operations for the venue. “This will be dining in a nightclub environment and the first completely outdoor restaurant.”
Inside, the venue is a nightclub; outside, alfresco dining and a beach club so “you don’t have to leave,” Grisafi says. “It gives us something to market that’s different in Las Vegas.”
Outside, another 250 seats for lunch and the infamous Saturday and Sunday Champagne Brunch imported from the New York locale. The menu will feature a Southern France, Mediterranean influence with lighter fare. By day, lunch and brunch on the weekends, and by night, dinner poolside.
A former VIP area outdoors is being converted into outdoor booth seating. One existing pool features a waterfall and a deejay booth will be built over that. To the east, another 1,600-square-foot pool being built has a 1,500-square-foot stage at the eastern side for concerts, deejays, VIP seating and more. Daybeds, 16 VIP cabanas and two owner’s cabanas with their own private pools circle the venue. In total, 3,000 can fit in the outdoor venue when complete for events such as dinner and a movie outdoors, concerts, deejays and more. A bocce ball court and volleyball courts that can be transformed into a beach soccer field have yet to be constructed.
Partners Remi Laba and Aymeric Clemente — who are working with the ONE Group, which already has STK at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas — are planning a June opening, although an exact date has not been set. The ONE Group also announced plans to open Heraea, a sports-themed restaurant and lounge opening at the end of 2012 opening at the Palms.
Bagatelle already has outposts in New York, Los Angeles and St. Barth’s.
The venue is the third to take over the nightclub space once occupied by Nikki Beach, then RPM Nightclub, shuttered to make way for Bagatelle.
