The Bourbon Room is getting closer to completion at the Venetian. Last week, reps there sent out an invite to the grand opening June 1, and now it seems the bar taking over the former La Scena space is just about ready to open.
The signs, dead ringers for the same-named bar from Rock of Ages, the musical purportedly coming to the Venetian, are already lit up. Furniture has been moved in and it looks like it just needs a cleanup to be ready to open.
Rock of Ages has been long rumored to be taking the place of The Blue Man Group when it departs for the Monte Carlo in October. The musical is set in a fictional Hollywood bar called The Bourbon Room with classic rock hits from the 1980s such as Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison and Europe.
