It’s coming. We first broke that London-based Hakkasan would be making its Vegas debut in time for New Year’s Eve with a massive restaurant/club hybrid over at the MGM Grand. Now the buzz for its December opening is building.
Construction for the five-level nightclub and restaurant is already diverting traffic on Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard with a massive crane stretched out above the former Studio 54 space.
The massive club will take up 75,000 square feet filled with the restaurant and lounge as well as a new nightclub component, something unique to Las Vegas. Inside Hakkasan plans to have a similar Chinoiserie decor to the flagship, Michelin-starred London location.
The restaurant and nightclub also launched its Website, hakkasanlv.com, as well as a Facebook and Twitter account. There we found a video preview that tells the viewer to expect, “A mysterious realm for the senses that exist beyond a hidden passageway.”
Hakkasan also plans to expand to San Francisco and Los Angeles over the next 12 months.
