The Iranian and Persian restaurant Royal Persis found itself shut down on July 6 after a routine inspection by the Southern Nevada Health District. The restaurant racked up 61 demerits during the visit.
Inspectors found spoiled food, no hand washing and that the restaurant was operating outside the parameters of its health permit among the violations.
Royal Persis generally garnered an A grade during previous inspections, along with a few B grades in 2009 and 2008 that were bumped up after a re-inspection.
SNHD routinely shuts down restaurants that earn more than 40 demerits.
