A Swanky New Sports Bar Is Coming to the Hard Rock

New, 1 comment

A chic gastropub is about to take over space at the Hard Rock Hotel. Come Labor Day weekend, New York sports bar The Ainsworth plans to open just in time for opening weekend of college football.

Think high-end cocktail lounge with televisions covered with two-way mirrors that only show sports when games are on open seven days a week. Inside this swanky setting, find a limited 10-item menu that includes tuna tartare, chicken teriyaki and pulled pork tacos. The cocktail menu promises to feature the Big Ginger with its Jameson whisky, ginger ale, lemon and lime.

The joint gets its name from pocket cards 6-2, either suited or offsuit, dealt in poker.

The New York version of The Ainsworth spans 6,000 square feet with a full restaurant, bar and lounge in Chelsea decked out with 40 flat-screen televisions and a 60-item menu.

This marks the eighth venue Paige Management Properties will operate, including two new spots opening in New York this fall and the first outside the Big Apple.

Matt Shendell, president of The Ainsworth, says the deal came about 11 days ago, so more details on the space are forthcoming.
