Los Antojos, Envy Bulk Prep Area Get the Shutter

Los Antojos, the Mexican restaurant serving up authentic fare that has become a darling of the food media, was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on July 16 after a re-inspection.

Inspectors discovered spoiled or contaminated foods along with food not properly cooled and not stored at the proper temperature. During an inspection on June 11, the restaurant landed 31 demerits, a C grade, during a routine inspection. The re-inspection netted 19 demerits.

Also shuttered, the bulk prep area for Envy — the Steakhouse at the Renaissance. Inspectors came back after a July 12 inspection earned 37 demerits. While the re-inspection found 21 demerits on July 16, inspectors found spoiled food, foods not stored at the proper temperature and more.
