The Griddle Sizzles Up 40 Demerits from the SNHD

Breakfast favorite The Griddle nearly shut down June 29 when the restaurant found itself with 40 demerits from the Southern Nevada Heath District.

Inspectors found spoiled or contaminated food, food unprotected from contamination, food not cooled to proper temperatures and more during a routine inspection.

On Sept. 15, 2011, the restaurant also received a C grade with 37 demerits. A re-inspection on Oct. 5 pulled it up to an A grade.

Last week, Heidi Knapp Rinella at the Las Vegas Review-Journal reviewed The Griddle and gave it an A- in her book.

The SNHD routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits.
