Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods America debuts tonight at 9 p.m. with a look of all that’s fabulous in Las Vegas.
What ended up on the cutting room floor? Zimmern’s Travel Channel vlog gives viewers some tips on two that didn’t make the cut.
First, Raku, the Japanese robata-style restaurant in Chinatown. Zimmern describes the chicken sausage that they grill that ”floats down your throat like angels wings.” He even goes so far as to call one dinner at Raku as, “One of the best meals I ate last year was at Raku.”
The other? Lotus of Siam.
“They have grown this restaurant into one of the most potent forces for showing people what real, insanely glorious Thai food is all about.”
Zimmern says he went to both on camera and returned for a second meal off. He also explains why it was so difficult to get the Travel Channel to agree to film in Vegas.
He also drops some knowledge on where to stay in Vegas — Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, citing “The rooms, the view, the level of service.”
