You can dub this the mother of all Back of the House Brawls. This Saturday, six French chefs from the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay face off in a Bastille Day matchup at Tommy Rocker’s.
The Iron Chef-type brawl usually pits two chefs against each other cooking on food trucks. But this one, organized by Jolene Mannina, divides six chefs into two teams to compete in the 1 a.m. winner-take-all brawl.
On Team MGM Grand: Claude Le-Tohic from Joël Robuchon, Steve Benjamin of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Stephane Chevet of Shibuya. On Team Mandalay Bay: Vincent Pouessel of Aureole, Bruno Riou of Mix and Laurent Pillard of Fleur.
Each team will receive a mystery basket of ingredients then they’re given 30 minutes to create a dish for the judges. Each team will also be selling their own interpretation of street food to raise money for Three Square Food Bank.
That’s not all. Redneck Kitchen, Coast 2 Coast, Just Rolling, Ben’s BBQ and SnOwOnO Shaved Ice will be on hand with their food trucks.
The Saturday Night Truck Stop starts up at 8 p.m. with chefs starting their cooking at 1 a.m.
The winners walk away with the coveted PBR pony keg trophy.
