New Veggie Dishes at Slice; Town Square Charity Events

MANDALAY PLACE — Slice of Vegas now has new platters and vegetarian-friendly options on the menu. New dishes include Sticks and Shrooms, a medley of zucchini and mushrooms battered, fried golden brown and served with a house ranch and blue cheese dipping sauce as well as the Vegan Faux Pie topped with Daiya mozzarella and a mix of vegetables including zucchini, squash, red onion, roasted pepper and eggplant. A new signature pie — the BBQ Chicken Pizza with a sweet house BBQ sauce, mozzarella, grilled chicken breast, red onions and chopped basil. Slice also has the Godfather Platter with wings, sticks and shrooms, garlic fries and Mamma’s Garlic Bread served together on a pizza platter as well as the Yo, Cheese Steak with thinly sliced beef and topped with peppers, onions, spices, melted provolone cheese and served on a fresh Italian hoagie roll. TOWN SQUARE — Several Town Square restaurants are stepping up their philanthropic efforts this September by partnering with Cure 4 the Kids Foundation and offering a way for the community to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of sales from various items on the menus will go to Cure 4 the Kids, which funds The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, the only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center in the state of Nevada. From Sept. 1-3, Fracos & Fröccs is donating 50 percent of the Mandarin/Pomegranate Fröcc and Blue Martini is donating 2 percent from its Signature Blue Martini. From Sept. 7-9, Texas de Brazil is donating $2 per dessert. From Sept. 14-16, Brio Tuscan Grille is donating all proceeds from sales of its Torta Di Cioccolata cake while Ranch House Kitchen is donating 15 percent of weekend proceeds to the charity. From Sept. 21-23, English’s is selling $30 gift certificates for $20, $10 of which goes to Cure 4 The Kids.
