Welcome to Front & Center, a series highlighting front of the house professionals in Las Vegas restaurants. Right now, Chris Moonen, the assistant manager at RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay, writes about John Lubang, the lead server at RM Seafood:
John Lubang, at the core, cares about people. When everything is stripped away, John wants both the people he works with and the people he takes of to leave feeling better because of his service. In hospitality, I cannot ask for more.
John has a natural drive to be successful, and he is, but he seems to relish it most as part of a team.
He will not like this praise. He will not like being singled out. He will probably tell me that his success is born from good people supporting him.
I think part of the reason why the people around him are good is because he sets the example of what it means to serve in the hospitality industry.
