Oft-maligned Beso Steakhouse at Crystals was finally taken off life support on Monday when it was shut down to make way for She. Beso, partially owned by actress Eva Longoria along with Landry's Restaurant Inc. in Houston, filed for Chapter 11 reorganization last May. Then in October Landry's bought the restaurant's assets for $1 million and kept Longoria on as a 30 percent stakeholder.
Now Landry's plans to convert the space into a 1920s era dining and nightlife spot complete with fashion shows, a new entrance outside of Crystals and a larger outdoor patio.
Vegas Seven reports that owners Jonas Lowrance and Longoria will stay on as partners in the new concept.
Apparently She is going after the female crowd like STK at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with a menu created by former corporate chef Todd Mark Miller that includes "boutique steakhouse dishes and small bites appealing to ladies."
The former Eve Nightclub upstairs will take on Cirque du Soleil and Crazy Horse Paris-style entertainment replete with rain curtains with projections, ground fog, cryogenic fog, video mapping and sexy female performers.
This area seems to be targeting the same clientele as The Act, the Simon Hammerstein venue coming to the Shoppes at the Palazzo in October. She's upstairs will have tiered seating around a central dance floor for views of five-minute vignettes throughout the night. Sound familiar?
Updated: She plans to open in time for New Year's Eve.
