Wagyu Back on the CUT Menu; Wine Wars at Fleming's

PALAZZO — Japanese Wagyu beef returns on the CUT menu starting Sept. 10. This cut of meat hasn't been available since 2010 when exports were suspended to the United States. Executive chef Matthew Hurley says, "I'm very excited to have the true, 100 percent Japanese Wagyu return to our menu. It's that exclusive, high-end, high-quality meat that we know customers of CUT desire. The Japanese Wagyu is ultra-rich and lush and intensely marbled and melts like butter in your mouth. I cannot wait to be able to offer this to our guests again and to have it back in our kitchen." [EaterWire]

WESTSIDE — Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar returns with its award-winning list of 100 wines by the glass, the Fleming's 100 in September during a "Month of Discovery." The new list features many iconic wineries from California as well as top-rated wines from Europe, Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. During the Bottle Wars Wine Tastings, rival wines from the list face off every Friday night in September for $25. Look for the "Pinot Smackdown" on Sept. 7; "Battle of the Hemispheres" where California takes on South America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa on Sept. 14; "Old World vs. New World" where European masters from France, Italy, Germany and Spain go against winemakers from California on Sept. 21; and "Glass Warfare" with premium wines and value-priced wines made from similar grapes go head to head on Sept. 28.
